Hazard Press loves the whole process of producing a book, from writing and taking photographs, to sourcing the card, to printing and assembling, and finally numbering the editions with a rubber stamp.
 




 

CAUGHT BY A WAVE

Inspired by photographs of soldiers by the sea, this is a concertina-fold book incorporating different printing techniques contained within a Letterpress cover. The recycled cover and content stock are unique to each book.

6 pages (85mm x 120mm) plus cover. Letterpress, colour inkjet print, B/W laser print, hand-stamping. Pamphlet binding. Edition of 40, with the number hand-stamped on an insert.

Five poems about roads
and travelling, and where the
M4 ends. Each book has a unique cover made from a vintage postcard.

COLLAGING KEN & JOE

A Found poem for Joe Orton and Kenneth Halliwell using exhibition text. Each cover is unique, made out of altered colour pages recycled from damaged 1950s encyclopaedias.

Inspired by Protest art hung on the railings of Russell Square, this is a tricksy, instructional little book containing a big message in the final unfolding.

About 6 pages (105mm x 148.5mm). B/W laser print on various stocks of leftover paper, coloured foil and rubber stamping. Edition of 100, with the number hand-stamped on the reverse.


SIX ERs BEHIND BARS

A concertina-fold book containing six original vintage UK postage stamps (each featuring the image of Queen Elizabeth II) threaded into the pages.

8 pages (37mm x 54mm). B/W laser print and coloured foil with six original used stamps. Edition of 100, with the number hand-stamped on the reverse.

A fold-out A6 pamphlet based on a Who Am I? pub quiz sheet found abandoned in the street, together with Found text sourced from Google.
